Media Services Co-Op

For my first Co-Op, I decided to stay close to home and work a job at the college. I took a job at the media services department of the college. It is my first time working a full-time job because before this I had only been going to school and working part-time jobs.

Goals

One of the biggest parts of Co-Op is your growth as an individual. So in order to get the most of the Co-Op experience students set goals to ensure they reach their maximum potential. These goals can be related to work or any number of other things such as personal health. Feel free to click on the links below to see my set goals for this Co-Op.

Blog Post

One of my assignments over Co-Op was to create a Blog post for the website Antioch Engaged. Please check it out!

Events

A huge part of my work was working events around campus and providing necessary equipment and tech support when requested.

Water Protectors Panel

This was an event I also live streamed and did the camera work for. I was extremely interested in the concept and views they shared with the audience.

World House Choir

I did a lot of work with the World House Choir and the events they did for the Yellow Springs community. However, my favorite was the first event and my first time ever seeing them perform.

Ableism Training

This was the most inspiring event I attended during Co-Op and has given me an idea for hosting my own event at the school.  It was an ableism training presentation given by a alumni of the college.

Work Vlogs

I chose to record a couple of videos to explain in a more personable way certain aspects of my job. They were just quick little videos. I apologize for all of the stutters, pauses, and mistakes but these were not scripted and I'm not great on camera. Feel free to check out my little rambles.

Live Streaming

A snip-it ramble about live streaming. If it's slightly confusing it's because I get really excited talking about what I learned.

Personal Work

Check out the small gallery of photography and poetry I have done over co-op

End of Co-Op

What's the take away?

There is so much that a student can take away from Co-Op. I am very happy to say that I walked away from this Co-Op having learned a lot not only in technical work but in my personal life. Having a full-time job for the first time gave me a look into the future of life after college. It also showed me that my quest for knowledge is not over yet. I am ready to get back to classes and learn more.
