The Co-Op Experience

World House Choir
This was an important event not only to me but my growth. This was my first event for the World House Choir. It was my first time seeing them perform and my first time working the computer for a live stream event. The performance was beautiful and the live stream had over 60 people watching on YouTube. I am very happy with the way the night turned out. it also gave me experience setting up equipment in the foundry theater.
The Concert
Water Protectors Panel
This was an indigenous peoples panel on the importance of protecting our water sources. They discussed many cutlural points including the missing and murdered indigenous woman that are rarely covered on the news. I was running the camera for the live stream event and was very happy with the work I did. The resulting video looked very professional and I was happy to give my focal attention to anyone who spoke. This is just one eye-opening experience that can happen at Antioch College.

Ableism
True Inspiration
This was a presentation given by the Alumni of the college. They came in for this very special presentation. She was a grad student from OSU and the things she had to say made me very passionate as it is something I myself have experienced. Ableism is a term used to describe discrimination of people with disabilities. We talked about how people with able bodies are given precedence over people with physical disabilities and how to negate some of it in a college environment. Another part of the presentation was talking about accommodating those with mental disabilities. I was there to videotape the discussion but ended up also participating and walking away with inspiration. The things we talked about made me question my major choice. It also gave me the idea to hold my own presentation about mental illness at the college and I am currently working on putting materials together.
